This book helps you to understand the Server Smalltalk (SST) framework which you can use to develop client-server applications. The SST Guide covers two main topics: Information for the occasional user of SST and Information for the advanced user of SST.

Under the former, this guide offers a primer of concepts necessary to understand SST. A set of “hello world” examples illustrate distributed computing in the basic SST. framework as well as for Java RMI support and CORBA IIOP support

Under the latter, this guide describer customizations which result in a more performant SST application.
