Attribute-from-script connections are another of VA Smalltalk's seven connection types. They connect a script to an attribute value, so that the script runs whenever the attribute value needs to be calculated.

Attribute-from-script connections can be used instead of attribute-to-attribute connections in situations when you need to change one of the attributes. A simple example is a script that returns a sorted collection for the items attribute of a list, instead of using a direct connection to an ordered collection.

In this section, we create an attribute-from-script connection. The window contains a list that displays all file names in the current directory. When the user double-clicks on a file in the list, its contents are displayed in the multiline edit field.
