Browser menu choices
This section describes the choices available on the Folders and Attachments menus of the Application Attachments browser. For information on the File, Edit, Names, and Editions menus of the browser, see other chapters in this guide.
Folders
The Folders pane lists all attachment folders defined for the selected application or subapplication edition or version. The Folders menu offers the following choices, some of which are mentioned previously in the chapter:
Retrieve
Retrieves attachments in the selected folder from the library and writes them to files. You can use the stored path name (Use Stored) for the target file name or designate a different file name (Name Each).
Add
Adds a new folder to the selected application or subapplication edition. When prompted, supply a folder name. A folder name can contain any printable character, including space and punctuation.
Rename
Renames the selected folder with the new name you supply.
Delete
Deletes the selected folder after you confirm the delete operation.
Delete Empty
Deletes all empty folders after you confirm the delete operation.
Attachments
The Attachments pane lists all attachments in the selected folder. The Attachments menu offers the following choices:
Show Type
Toggles the display of the attachment type.
Show Timestamp
Toggles the display of the attachment timestamp.
Store
Stores the files in the library associated with the selected application or subapplication edition. The files have the path names you specified. See
Storing attachments.
Retrieve
Retrieves the select attachment from the library and writes it as a file to a target path name that you specify. You can use the stored path name (Use Stored) for the target file name or designate a different file name (Name Each).
Filter Text Retrievals
Toggles end-of-line filtering for text attachments. At retrieval time, the system processes end-of-line characters to match the conventions of the target platform.
Copy
Copies one or more attachments to a folder in another application edition (To An Application) or subapplication edition (To A Subapplication) or to a like-named folder within the selected edition (To A Folder). Copying an attachment to another application or subapplication causes a new folder to be created for the target application or subapplication if the folder does not already exist.
Move
Moves one or more attachments to a folder in another application edition (To A New Application) or subapplication edition (To A New Subapplication) or to a like-named folder within the selected edition (To A New Folder). Moving an attachment to another application or subapplication causes a new folder to be created for the target application or subapplication if the folder does not already exist.
Delete
Deletes the selected attachments.
Change Type
Changes the type attribute of the selected attachments.
