Filing in the filed-out code
Once you have filed out an application or part you can file it into another VA Smalltalk development system.
Filing in applications
To file in an application, select an application in the Organizer and then select Import/Export > File In from the Applications menu. Specify the path and name for the file that contains the application's code in the file dialog and select OK. If the application already exists, the debugger is displayed. Therefore, be certain that you delete or unload the application before you file it in.
So you can test your work, select the filed-in application and then select Generate > Runtime Code from the Applications menu.
Filing in parts
To file in a part, select a target application in the Organizer. Then select Import/Export > File In from the Parts menu. Specify the source file in the file dialog and select OK.
Any problems encountered while filing in are written to the System Transcript window. Once you have completed filing into your development environment, generate runtime code for the applications or parts and save your image to keep the changes.
If a Debugger window opens, showing the error Exception not resumable, file in any prerequisites for your application. Then, try filing in your application again.
