Although the library safely keeps all of the source code that is created and modified in the VA Smalltalk environment, each developer's abt.icx file still plays an important role. This file keeps track of which versions and editions of software have been loaded at any time. Developers can even use different images at different times, or for different projects. If an abt.icx file is accidentally lost, no work is ever lost, since it can always be reloaded from the library.
