Writing APPC applications with the VA Smalltalk APPC classes
Applications can use the VA Smalltalk APPC classes for APPC conversations and so control the allocation and use of an APPC session. To do this, a program must be aware of the state of the conversation over the intersystem link at any given time. The APPC classes you can use to control an APPC conversation are as follows:
•AbtAPPCCall
•AbtAPPCConfiguration
•AbtAPPCConnectionSpec
•AbtAPPCConversation
•AbtAPPCError
•AbtAPPCErrorDataComplete
•AbtAPPCLocalTP
•AbtAPPCReception
•AbtAPPCResult
The process below assumes that you have set up the appropriate side information on the client and have defined the transaction program to the server.
Note:
The APPC/IMS component of IMS TM supports two distinct APIs: the implicit and explicit interfaces. For more information about implicit and explicit APIs, see IMS Data Communication Administration Guide.
