Image
An image is a Smalltalk executable file that provides a development environment on your workstation. An image holds the following:
•Classes that define the VA Smalltalk product, and instances of these classes
•Compiled code for all executable methods
•Data for all variables defined in the product, including all instance data

Thus, an image holds components that provide the interface and functions for the product. Plus, it holds software components that you create or copy from an outside source.
