Using external functions
One of the benefits of VA Smalltalk is that you can use programs created in languages other than Smalltalk in a VA Smalltalk application. You can use programs written in languages such as C or COBOL. Also, you can use OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) server applications and custom control services (OCXs) in your visual application and even modify them in the Composition Editor.
