Use the Prerequisites window to view and change the prerequisites for the selected application.

Prerequisites are applications that an application needs to function properly.

You cannot directly change the prerequisites for a subapplication. A subapplication inherits prerequisites from its containing application. Thus, to change the prerequisites for a subapplication, you must change the prerequisites for the application that contains the subapplication.

You must be the manager of the application to change its prerequisites.

To open the Prerequisites window, select Prerequisites from the full Applications menu.

The Prerequisite applications field lists the prerequisites for the selected application in alphabetical order.

When the Show immediate radio button is selected, the Prerequisite applications field lists the immediate prerequisites for the selected application. An immediate prerequisite is a prerequisite at the end of a chain of prerequisites. The chain usually includes the base Smalltalk application Kernel and, for many applications created in the Composition Editor, ends with the application AbtEditBuildersApp.

When the Show all radio button is selected, the Prerequisite applications field lists all prerequisites for the selected application. It lists all applications that the selected application needs to function properly.

The Dependent applications field lists the applications that name the selected application as a prerequisite.

When the Show immediate radio button is selected, the Dependent applications field lists applications that name the selected application as an immediate prerequisite.

When the Show all radio button is selected, the Dependent applications field lists all applications that name the selected application as an immediate prerequisite or as a prerequisite further up the chain of prerequisites.
